No. The demonstration uses temporary materials and no decision has been made to construct a permanent roundabout. The purpose is to test the concept before any long-term changes are considered.

Because this is a temporary demonstration, the installation can be removed at the end of the demonstration period. The roadway is scheduled to return to regular conditions on October 15. Information gathered during the project will be used to help evaluate future transportation safety recommendations.

The Town of Alpine will temporarily install a roundabout at the intersection of US-89 and Greys River Road as part of the Town’s Safe Streets and Roads for All Transportation Safety Action Plan. The demonstration will allow the Town and project team to evaluate how a roundabout functions at this location under real-world conditions.
