Noxious Weed Control is the Law

Property owners in Alpine are required to control and remove noxious weeds. Failure to comply is a violation of Town of Alpine Ordinance No. 2020-02, adopted under the Wyoming Weed & Pest Control Act.

Why It Matters

The most threatening invasive weed in Alpine is spotted knapweed. This plant alters soil so nothing else can grow, creating barren “knapweed wastelands.” Infestations spread quickly and threaten both private and public lands.

Property Owner Responsibilities

If you have noxious weeds on your property, you must either:

  1. Hire a contractor to treat the weeds, or
  2. Remove them yourself before they seed and spread.

Town Assistance

If you are unable to remove noxious weeds on your own, the Town of Alpine is here to help. Please contact Town Hall at (307) 654-7757 to discuss scheduling and service options.
